Bridal Barn weddings

The Bridal Barn in Bridgnorth was the setting for Corey and Emily's wedding reception. Earlier in the day they'd been married in a church in Kidderminster. The Bridal Barn was a new venue for me, so a few weeks before the main event I decided to take a trip over and take a look around (something I'll always do at a new venue so I don't waste any time on the day itself.) Behind the venue I had noticed this hill that, if it had been greener, would have really reminded me of the old Windows 98 desktop image (I'm showing my age, I know.) I could see the sort of image I wanted to take - bride and groom on top of the hill, me a little below them, with an epic sky.

On the day of the wedding itself however, the weather was... 'British.' It rained all morning. Then stopped. Then rained some more. Then became grey and overcast, and looked like it would rain. Eventually, whilst at the reception venue, the clouds parted, the sun made a welcome appearance and we were on.

The only thing is, I am extremely unfit and have two bad knees. There was no way I was going to run the quarter of a mile to the top of this hill (not in any way I'd be able to breathe at the top at least) which worried me, until Corey said the venue had a two person golf buggy that we could borrow. Fans of maths reading this will realise that (1) bride + (1) groom + (1) photographer doesn't equal 2. 'You can stand on the back where the golf clubs go, and hang on.' Whilst this sounded like more of a death sentence than running, it's exactly what I did - feeling like Jack Sparrow (and with the music playing in my head) we sailed up the hill and took some truly beautiful images.
