Laura and Ashley's amazing Crumplebury wedding
This was the first time I had worked at Crumplebury - a venue that's relatively close to me and I'd driven past a hundred times, but I'd never been in. The venue itself is unlike anything else we have locally in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Being in quite an old and rural part of the country, the vast majority of venues are stately manor houses, large country homes or reclaimed barns. Not Crumplebury however. Crumplebury is new, modern and sleek. The inside space has arguably had more design work done that the outside. The bedrooms feel like that of an expensive London hotel. The ceremony room again could be lifted straight from a London penthouse (apart from the views, which are entirely that of countryside here) and the reception space has a slightly industrial feel to it. It's a barn, but not one that's 1,000 years old and made of brick. It has massive open spaces, full height glazing on two enormous walls and the inside space is almost entirely white. It feels like an art gallery. So whilst Crumplebury is unlike anything else locally, that's one of the best things about it - If you think about it, in the two counties; if you don't want an old barn, a hotel, a register office or an old stately home... what options are there really?
