There's something truly magical about the moments just before sunset, when the light softens, and everything is bathed in a warm, golden glow. This image perfectly encapsulates that fleeting, yet beautiful, time of day known as the golden hour, when everything seems to slow down, and all that matters is the love between two people. The way the sunlight gently wraps around this couple, highlighting their joy and connection, is what makes this photograph so special. At least that's usually what happens. Depending on the time of year, sunset can come at a really inopportune time but try as I might, I can't stop the earth from spinning. I'd need several hands to be able to count the number of times I've had to grab the bride and groom in the spare moments between their main course and their dessert for example.
This wasn't one of those occasions - luckily we were well into the evening reception before some of the clouds parted and we were presented with this amazing sunset. As a wedding photographer, my goal is to capture these intimate, authentic moments that truly reflect your love story. I believe that the best photos come from genuine interactions – like this one, where the couple is simply enjoying the moment together, completely absorbed in each other (even if I am squatting 10 feet away...) It’s not about forced poses or staged scenes; it’s about those natural, unscripted moments that happen when you’re just being yourselves, and I happen to be there hiding.
