I'm a documentary wedding photographer at heart, which means that for the most part, I'm a fly on the wall. I stand back and observe, taking photos at key moments which capture the real emotion of the day. It's hard work at times, because you only get one opportunity to get those key moments, but when you do, it's absolutely magical.
For this photo, I was watching the bride as she was chatting away with her young flower girl. Quite often, younger children are used to having to smile for photos - usually as their parents have been taking photos of them with their phones from a young age, and always being told to look at the camera and strike a pose. As a documentary wedding photographer, this makes things quite tricky for me.
