I photograph a lot of weddings at Bredenbury Court Barns. A lot. I suppose it's a good thing then that I love it! It's not just the fact it has pretty much everything you could ever want in a wedding venue, as well as the staff being ace, the food being incredible, and most importantly, it's only a 20 minute drive from my house (which is somewhere behind the couple in the image at the bottom of this writeup)
Joking aside what always amazes me is the sheer variety of images you can get at Bredenbury. I was their first ever recommended supplier, having photographed one of their very first weddings, and getting into a long conversation with the owner who was working in the site office at the time. I finished the wedding at 2230, and left around 0100 the following morning. It was the start of one of the best relationships of my career, and one that I am incredibly fond of. In all that time (and probably 40+ weddings there) I'm still finding new places to take photos. It's not that the venue is evolving necessarily (although they have done a lot of work on the gardens and with a fancy new car park too) but the sheer size of it. Not only does it give nearly endless possibilities, but I'm able to create something new for each couple. Of course I still have my favourite spots (the brick arch which was once the entrance to a walled garden for example) but different opportunities present themselves at different times of the year. In the summer, the sun sets behind the building and casts this gorgeous golden glow that you can see in the image at the top of the page. Seeing the Oak Barn and the festoon lights makes it instantly recognisable as Bredenbury Court to me - but then again I do almost live there.
