Gemma and Alex were one of the few couples to get married in 2020 owing to this thing called Covid (remember that?!) but it didn't exert a massive effect on their day - sure we had to wear face masks inside (which meant every time I exhaled, the viewfinder of my camera would steam up and I was largely unable to see what I was doing. The photos are still excellent though, naturally) and there were only... 12 or 30 guests. The government changed their mind so many times it was hard enough to keep up then; I have no chance of remembering now I'm typing this in 2024.
The wedding took place at the Wood Norton Hotel near Evesham, one of my regular haunts. I've always loved the light in the bedrooms, it's this gorgeous soft light that's ideal for portraits and the dark wood panelling makes for a rich, deep background too. As you can see in the image above, Gemma is absolutely glowing. I love how it picks the detail out in her veil, too.
